Why should anyone care about understanding creationism?

Well - what you think about where you came from can really mess with how you think about yourself. I mean if you think you’re just an animal, then why shouldn’t you just act like one?

Since I was a public school teacher for years I can tell you that a lot of kids really do act like apes. But you probably know that already…

Still, it is kind of difficult in modern times to keep believing that God made everything isn’t it?

After all, many scientists and teachers believe our ancestors were just a bunch of apes sitting around picking fleas off each other a couple million years ago. And the whole “science thing” can be intimidating too!

But it doesn’t have to be!

This web site is about the science that shows why you can believe God created the heavens and the Earth.

Now, creation scientists can be just as “scientific” and complicated as anyone else but this site is here to translate the “science-speak” into “normal-speak” – the kind of everyday, easy-to-understand and easy-to-remember language you can use anywhere.

You will find many “memory acronyms” or rhyming phrases to help you remember important facts and share them with others also. In addition to this website, you can also find 30 of these acronyms and phrases in my book “Someone’s Making a Monkey Out of You”.

Why I Created This Website...

Growing up, I was confused by the whole evolution thing. My parents and my church were teaching me that God made everything and that I should live for Him.

But my school was telling me I was a hairless ape. And they started teaching me this “science” as early as grade 6.

In grade 8 I won a science fair award for my presentation on Evolution – and that got my dad a little worried.

So, he found an opportunity to take me to listen to a creationist scientist named Dr. Duane T. Gish and my life has never been the same since…

I could barely understand what Dr. Gish was saying – I was only in 8th grade – but he did have a children’s book called “Dinosaurs: those terrible lizards.”

In his book he explained that real science doesn’t show evolution at all...

...I was amazed...and hooked on creation science.

Since that time I’ve spent thousands of hours reading dozens and dozens of creationist (and evolutionist) writings. I became a public school science teacher at one point and it became my job to take complicated subjects and translate them into words your average 7th grader can understand.

After a little while, people began to ask me to teach about evolution and creation. So I wrote a book called "Someone's Making a Monkey Out of You."

Well - the "Monkey book" has been re-printed 4 times, was translated into French - it even toured West Africa once - and is now fully revised and expanded. Here's the new cover. I'll tell you more about the "Monkey book" on another page.

I even wrote a novel called "Legend" that is based on the whole Evolution vs Creation idea (it's all about black-mailing politicians, murder, mountain climbing...that sort of thing. But we'll talk more about that later.)

So after all of this - I decided to share what I've learned with you...

Who Is This Site Aimed Towards?

Maybe you want to help your kids or your friends learn why they can believe. Or maybe you’ve had some doubts and you want to know if there are answers.

You might be a teacher, or just trying to get through school as a student. You could even be a scientist who just wants to understand what the creationists are talking about (don’t worry - your secret is safe with me). This site is for you my friend.
